Medra Raises $52M Series A
Our portfolio company Medra has raised a $52 million Series A, led by Human Capital with participation from Lux Capital, Neo, Menlo Ventures, Catalio Capital Management, and 776.
Since their public launch earlier this year, Medra has evolved from automating individual lab instruments to building Physical AI Scientists: systems that generate hypotheses, design experiments, interpret results, and directly control lab equipment.
The company is already running autonomous workflows with Genentech, Cultivarium, and Addition Therapeutics. They're also building one of the largest autonomous research labs in the U.S., a 38,000-square-foot facility in San Francisco's SoMa neighborhood housing 100 robots.
